October Sermon Series

October’s Sermon Series is centered on Discipleship. The goal of this series is to challenge Journey of Faith to engage in more intentional ways to grow in Christ as disciples so that we can Win The War.

Every believer has a responsibility to invest in our growth as followers of Jesus Christ. Less we fall away to the blind ambitions of this world. Investing in our relationship with God is the only way to Win The War (not just the battles). In 1 Cor. 13:11, Paul says, “When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.”

He helps us to understand that all of us have to grow up spiritually or else we will become stuck in the same spiritual immaturity (#BabesinChrist #NewChristians #SpirituallyShallow). For the Apostle Paul, it is not ok for us to stay spiritually childish. Because there are some things that the enemy will throw at us in this life, and if we're not prepared the adversary will win the war on our lives. Thus, we have to lean on Christ our Savior, and we can only do that when we intentionally grow Spiritually.

Our Discipleship pathway to such growth (spiritual maturity) centers on four GGSO imperatives including:

Gather (in Worship) | Grow (as Disciples in God's Word) | Serve (others through Outreach) | Offer (Christ to somebody) .
